Emalee McRae

Emalee McRae served as the Environmental Lab Specialist for the Environmental Engineering & Controlled Environment Agriculture Programs at Western Dakota Technical College from 2022-2024. In her position, she was the head aquaculturalist.  She is an alumnus of the EET program at WDT and earned her Associates in the spring of 2022. While a student she was the club president consecutively for two years, a lab assistant collecting aquaponic data and was a research assistant on an EPA funded grant P3 National Design Expo, “Tertiary Wastewater Treatment through Aquaponics.” In addition, during her free time she works at Outlaw Ranch in Custer, SD where she teaches a variety of ages different aspects of environmental stewardess, leads services projects alongside the National Park Service, and facilitates activities like hiking, biking and kayaking with the goal to help locals and youth find new ways to appreciate and take care of the area that we inhabit.
